Bringing People Together Through Choral Music
"This chorus has become the "singing home" that I had been looking for. The group is friendly and welcoming. Singers of all ages will enjoy singing with CMFC."
~ Susan S., Rutland, MA

"Being part of the Central MA Festival Chorus was an incredibly engaging and rewarding experience. After many years away from singing and reading music, I found the challenge invigorating and appreciated the supportive learning environment. The group of singers are friendly and talented, and Jane is a dynamic leader who truly gives you her all. She embodies everything I look for in a choral director.”

Our Story
Who We Are
Founded in 2024, the Central Massachusetts Festival Chorus was created to inspire a sense of community and cultural enrichment through the power of choral music. We are dedicated to fostering musical excellence, nurturing artistic growth, and creating inclusive spaces where every voice is valued. Join us in experiencing the joy of singing and learning together.
No audition is needed - just a love of singing! We'll help you develop strong breathing skills and vocal technique while giving you the tools to grow and gain confidence as a singer.
"Singing with CMFC has been such an enriching experience for me. Jane's vast knowledge of the voice has brought out a rich, full timbre from every one of the members of the chorus, regardless of their level of vocal training. I look forward to our rehearsals and truly enjoy singing with such a wonderful group of people."
~ Amanda E., Worcester, MA

"To me, choral singing is about the journey on which music takes us. How emotions are expressed through the combination of melodies, harmonies, and words as can be uniquely done in a choral setting is truly special.
I joined the CMFC this past spring. I can think of no other way to put it than to describe it as the "Jane Shivick experience." I have been in several choruses over the years, and no director I have sung for matches her intensity, knowledge of and passion for singing that permeates rehearsals. She is constantly working through us to get the best sound we as a chorus can produce. This is a good thing because that drive of hers to achieve this optimal sound, coupled with a strong musical program resulted in a wonderful concert performance. I look forward to the next season. What are we singing next? Let’s go! Bring it on!" ~ Verne H., Auburn, MA

"During this season, I was able to improve my sight-reading ability, timing, and confidence while at the same time learning diction and choral techniques from a professional. I will definitely be back in the Fall."

"This was my first experience singing in a community chorus, although I have sung in various choirs since I was a child. I have very much enjoyed and been energized and challenged during rehearsals. It's been fun meeting other people who share my passion for music and singing. I honestly feel honored and blessed to be a part of such an excellent group." ~ Cathy B., Auburn, MA
